“The Blue Pencil” launched to a captivated crowd

David Lowther’s debut novel The Blue Pencil was launched to an enthralled gathering at the People’s Bookshop in Durham last night.

Lowther fascinated book-lovers with his account of researching and writing the book, and provided an insight into some of the hidden truths on which the book is based. He fielded several questions and read extracts from the book.

The People’s Bookshop is a small indie retailer hidden away in an attic up one of Durham’s many “vennels” (a snicket or alleyway, if you prefer). Copies of The Blue Pencil are available from the bookshop. If you are unable to get there in person, you can also get hold of it through the Sacristy Press website.

The event will be repeated at the Lit & Phil – an independent library in Newcastle-upon-Tyne – on Monday 22nd April 2013 at 6pm. The event is free, but booking is required.
