James Hagerty
James Hagerty was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, and attended St Bede’s Grammar School. He trained to be a teacher and spent his professional career as a teacher, a lecturer, and an inspector of schools and colleges. His final teaching post was Headteacher of St Bede’s Grammar School, Bradford.
Dr Hagerty holds degrees from York University (BA, MPhil) and Leeds University (MA, PhD). He is a Fellow of Leeds Trinity University and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. In 2007 he was made a Knight of St Gregory the Great by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.
