Added about 2 years ago by Sacristy Press
The Duke of Northumberland will host the launch of Northumberland: A Guide at The Guest Hall, Alnwick Castle on Tuesday 27 September 2022 at 6pm. Drinks will be served.
The event is free of charge, and anyone is welcome to attend. So that adequate refreshments can be provided, please email the author (stephen.platten@icloud.com) if you would like to attend.
Entry to Alnwick Castle will be via the Iron Railings on Castle Square (NE66 1NG). Please do not park in the main castle car park on Denwick Lane as there will be no access to the castle from this car park. Gates to the castle will open at 6pm, and the event will finish at approximately 7.30pm. For further information, please contact Alnwick Castle on 01665 511 100 or info@alnwickcastle.com.
Stephen Platten’s Northumberland: A Guide contains more than 240 photographs and maps, and begins with three chapters on the land, the history and the culture of the county. Following is a gazetteer of places including even the tiniest hamlets and covering the whole county from Alston and Allendale to Berwick and Wooler, Blyth and Ashington to West Woodburn and Bellingham.
It is a book that has been lovingly crafted in the tradition of the erstwhile Shell County Guides, and will be of immense interest to both residents and visitors of Northumberland alike. We hope you can join us for the launch.
